Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Lisenia collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run a good learning product.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: your email address, and optionally a display name and single-sign-on identifier.
- Onboarding & profile data: your learning goal (IELTS / TOEFL / general), level, country, age band, and — for minors — a record that parental consent was given.
- Learning activity: sessions completed, answers, scores and band estimates, streaks, daily activity, and feedback you submit. This lets us personalise your study plan and show your progress.
- Payment data: if you buy a plan, payment is handled by our payment processor. We receive limited billing details (such as plan and status); we do not store your full card number.
- Technical data: basic device/browser information and logs needed for security and reliability.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, personalise, and improve the Service and your study plan;
- To create your progress, band estimates, and AI coaching/feedback;
- To operate accounts, process payments, and provide support;
- To communicate with you about your account, important changes, and (with your consent where required) product news;
- To keep the Service secure and to comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing
To generate coaching, feedback, audio, and answers from the in-app assistant, some content you provide (such as your questions or answers) is processed by AI systems, including third-party AI and text-to-speech providers acting on our behalf. We do not use this to make legally significant automated decisions about you. Please don’t enter passwords or payment details into chat.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Lisenia, under contracts that require them to protect it — for example:
- Cloud hosting and database (to store your account and progress);
- AI and text-to-speech providers (to generate coaching, feedback, and audio);
- A payment processor (to take payments);
- An email provider (to send sign-in links and account messages).
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
5. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymise it, unless a longer period is required by law. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email us at support@lisenia.com. You can also object to marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
8. Children
Lisenia is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) without verifiable parental consent. Where a minor uses the Service, a parent or guardian consents on their behalf during onboarding and can contact us to review or delete the child’s data.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only the cookies and local storage necessary to sign you in, remember your preferences, and keep the Service secure. We do not use non-essential tracking without your choice where consent is required.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy and will update the “Last updated” date; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Questions or requests? Contact support@lisenia.com.
